Why Tallow? And A Full Nerdout of Ingredients
Tallow has been used in traditional skincare for centuries, prized for it's remarkable compatibility with human skin. Rich in fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, tallow supports skin regeneration, improves elasticity, and protects against environmental stressors. Tallow's fatty acid profile closely resembles the natural oils (sebum) in human skin, allowing it to absorb easily without clogging pores. This makes tallow especially beneficial for sensitive, dry, or compromised skin as it deeply nourishes while helping to restore the skin's natural barrier.
In addition to its moisturizing properties, tallow contains naturally occurring anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial components that can help sooth irritated skin and support overall skin health. Regular use may improve dryness, redness, signs of aging, and improve the texture leaving skin soft and balanced rather than greasy or dry.
When sourced and rendered properly, tallow is a simple, clean, ingredient that aligns with minimalist and sustainable body care, and offers an effective and gentle alternative to processed synthetic moisturizers. In our body balm, the addition of castor oil is a revelation for inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and injury. Our unscented balm is an excellent alternative to petroleum based diaper creams and baby products. The appearance and bulk of deep scarring is likewise improved in many people as well, making it a perfect choice for stretch marks and surgery scarring.
In soap, tallow and other animal fats are the ancient tradition of soap and ointment making. As long as humans have been making soap, they have been using nutrient rich animal fats to make it. Beef tallow and other animal fats create a beautiful, sudsy, long-lasting bar of soap in the ancient tradition of soapmaking. On a practical level, tallow's fats blend beautifully with other oils and the resulting soap is nourishing to human skin, isn't overly drying, and long lasting. The simplicity with which we make our soap and tallow products means you know exactly what's in it, and that every single ingredient is there for a reason.

Our Signature Scent Blends
Mountain Spa — Lavender, Lemon (cold-pressed), Tea Tree Calming and antimicrobial. Lavender soothes and promotes relaxation; tea tree clarifies and addresses surface bacteria; lemon lifts the blend with brightness. A spa-like, stress-relieving scent, ideal for evening use.
Mountain Fleur — Sweet Orange, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Elemi Romantic and uplifting. Geranium is hormone-balancing and toning; ylang ylang is relaxing and skin-regenerating; sweet orange and lemon brighten the blend. A floral, emotionally centering scent.
Mountain Zen — Sweet Orange, Peppermint, Lavender, Basil, Sage, Eucalyptus Energizing yet grounding. Peppermint and eucalyptus cool and sharpen focus; lavender balances the brighter notes; basil and sage add warmth and depth. A clarifying scent suited to mornings or a mental reset.
Mountain Musk — Bergamot (BF), Juniper Berry, Black Pepper Warm and grounding. Bergamot (bergaptene-free, no phototoxicity) uplifts; juniper berry detoxifies and supports circulation; black pepper adds warming depth. A confident, woodsy scent.

About the Ingredients
For most of my life I have been making my own skin and body care, growing herbs, and studying Western Herbalism and Holistic Nutrition. What we put on our bodies matters as much as what we put in them, and because of this I have always seemed to struggle with finding a simple and affordable way to care for my skin and hair in a simple sustainable way. Lots of products claim to be clean, and yet we find ingredients unpronounceable on the label.
I love creating my own products because, well, it's magic every time I unmold a loaf of soap, or whip up the perfect balm. I know exactly what is in that product, I know every single ingredient is there for a reason, and I can recreate it in a way that makes caring for myself simple, sustainable, and affordable.
Listen, I love a pretty bar of soap or bath bomb as much as the next gal...but I don't love all those synthetic fragrances and colorants. For me it's not necessary to the enjoyment of a beautiful bar of soap (that won't clog my drain with dried flowers...). You can be assured that every element to each product I make is thoughtfully considered, weighed against other options, sustainably sourced, and 100% organic and/or cold pressed. I make everything small batch with the cleanest ingredients available.
These soaps and whips are a love story to the skin, inviting a retreat, if even just for a moment, from the fast paced lives most of us are living. Every scent is not only natural, but therapeutic. BODY
Tallow Soap
A simple, skin friendly formula that is soothing for all skin types. Gentle and moisturizing, tallow creates a velvety base for soap that doesn't strip skin. There's enough slide and lather in this bar to shave with, and I have personally replaced shave cream, body wash, and face wash with one bar. Bada boom. Castor oil and coconut oil provide hardness, moisture, and balance the bar for a long lasting soap that cleanses well while maintaining moisture and leaving a soft skin feel. Gentle enough for littles, but it is still soap, so stay away from eyes.
Beef Tallow - 100% organic and grass-fed, our tallow is sustainably sourced and high quality. Makes for a beautiful bar of soap that is not too hard or soft, and will last a long time. Beef tallow has a lipid (fat) makeup that is nutrient dense and identical to human sebum, making it a wonderful choice for skincare. Comedogenic rating of 0-2 (very low risk of clogging pores, almost nil if applied to clean skin)
Castor Oil - 100% organic and cold-pressed/hexane free, castor oil imparts a velvety and rich lather to soaps and shampoos. The high viscosity of this oil makes it a great choice for creating a protective barrier for skin, preserving moisture in topical products. Castor oil is rich in fatty acids, antioxidants, is antimicrobial, and may help in collagen production. Great for sensitive skin and can aid in healing skin conditions like eczema, castor oil is a no-brainer addition to any skin product for its many benefits and wide spectrum of safe use. Coconut Oil - 100% organic and unrefined, coconut oil is popular in soap formulations due to its many skin benefits, sustainability, accessibility, and the buttery feel it lends to soap bars. Coconut contributes hardness and longevity factors to soap formulations, and is anti-microbial, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and astringent. In soap, coconut oil is very cleansing without drying. In topical application, it imparts many anti-aging, scar healing, and anti-microbial properties while providing a nourishing protective barrier to the elements.
Beeswax & Honey - adds longevity and moisture to the bar in a natural and therapeutic way. Always organic and sustainably sourced.

Tallow Body Balm
Is having a moment right now, and for good reason! Tallow is bio-identical to our skin's acid mantle, providing a long lasting moisture that absorbs quickly and leaves an incredibly soft and silky skin feel that soothes rough and sensitive skin. Packed with nutrients only to be found in animal products, vitamins A, D, E, and K deeply nurture and heal. Whipped lightly with a bit of castor for added moisture and healing, sunflower and arrowroot for its anti-inflammatory and deodorizing properties, this formula will convert you forever to the virtues of tallow and clean skin care. Try as a natural diaper cream for littles (without essential oils, No Bull), or as an ongoing treatment to help with eczema or acne, this tallow blend contains no petroleum ingredients or synthetic anything.

The combination gives skin a long-lasting velvety soft moisture that isn't greasy or heavy. Tallow Lotion Bar
With a heavy base of tallow and shea butter, this incredibly emollient formula goes on thick and absorbs more slowly to provide heavy moisture to cracked or rough skin. A great option for on the go and travel (a little bit goes a long way!), or skin that needs extra love. The thick nature of this bar helps give ailing skin a chance at healing and provides much needed protection from the elements with the addition of beeswax as a barrier.

Buff Bull (Tallow Sugar Body Scrub)
Exfoliation and moisture in one step. Sugar buffs away dry, rough patches while tallow, castor, and sunflower oil absorb right into the freshly-cleared skin, so you're not left tight and stripped the way most sugar scrubs leave you. I whip the tallow first, then fold the sugar in by hand so every granule stays intact.
Cane Sugar - fine, natural, and organic. The exfoliant base of this scrub, physically buffing away dead skin and rough patches without causing micro-tears.

Crow Soak (Mineral Bath Soak)
A bath that does something. Epsom salt and sea salt mineralize and relax, while bentonite clay pulls impurities, baking soda softens the water, and glycerin keeps skin from feeling tight afterward. This is the bath you take when you actually need to recover, not just get clean.
Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate) - the base of this soak. Absorbed through the skin, rebalancing deficiencies and relaxing muscles. Can fend off soreness from exercise and speed recovery, while softening skin and reducing edema.
Sea Salt - remineralizes and softens skin, excellent for eczema, psoriasis, and general skin recovery.
Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) - alkalizing and water softening, soothes irritation and itching.

Milk Duds Bath Bombs
A bath bomb that actually conditions skin, not just fizzes. Tallow deposits a light conditioning layer during the soak, while whole milk powder adds gentle exfoliation. Contains dairy.
Baking Soda + Citric Acid - the fizz. When they meet water, they create the effervescent reaction that makes a bath bomb a bath bomb. Baking soda also softens hard water and soothes irritated skin; citric acid provides mild exfoliation and brightening as it reacts.
Arrowroot Powder - gives the bath water a silky, luxurious quality that plain mineral soaks lack.
